April 3, 2025, marks a significant milestone for us—it’s the 25th anniversary of our Campbell River (YBL) and Comox (YQQ) bases! For a quarter of a century, Pacific Coastal Airlines has proudly connected these vibrant communities, deepening our relationships and enhancing our services along the way.
These two bases are particularly special to us as they are our second longest-operating locations on Vancouver Island following Port Hardy. Our journey began back in 2000 with the launch of our “triangle service,” which connected Vancouver to Campbell River, then to Comox, and back to Vancouver. After the pandemic, we enhanced our service further by introducing non-stop flights to both communities. And we didn’t stop there—last June, we expanded our network with a new non-stop route between Comox and Kelowna. To this day, we’re proud to offer regular return flights to and from both Campbell River and Comox!
At both of these bases, we take pride in having some of our longest-serving employees who have been with us since 2000. Celebrating this 25th anniversary milestone for Campbell River and Comox reflects not only our company’s growth but also the dedication of our people. This milestone is especially significant for our Comox based Area Manager, Cathy, who was present at the opening of both bases.
